CHNC challenge 165: Use a sentiment

Before I say anything else, I need to make a big apology to one of last week's winners, Di - and, more importantly to Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More because I wrongly said that the winning item from this sponsor was 5 digital images whereas in fact it is 3 images (no digital papers). This was an awful mistake because I had already done this once before and it had been pointed out to me. I have no excuse to make other than that I forgot. I am so sorry for the upset caused. I do so value the sponsorship that is given to this challenge by Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More and so many others.

What a lot of lovely Christmas love was shared during the week that has just gone. It's unbelievable that by the end of today's challenge two months of the year will already have passed, so it's a good time to steadily start making those Christmas cards.

Please note that I publish the prize winners here and on our facebook page, but don't notify winners individually - it is up to you all to check to see if you have won and email me as requested. There are one or two unclaimed prizes, so it's worth having a look back to see if you were a winner.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winners of challenge 164. There were, of course, three opportunities to win a prize.

The first winner:

Number 1: kbrandy4 (Hazel), who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Hazel. Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to receive your £10 voucher from Crafter's Companion.

The second winner:

Number 9: Lorraine A, who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Lorraine. Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to receive your £10 voucher from Paper Creator.

The third winner:

Number 6: Susan Renshaw, who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Susan.  Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to receive your 5 digital images from Eureka Stamps.

Now on to:
Challenge 165

For today's challenge I'd like to see some Christmas cards that include a sentiment - it can be just a small sentiment or it can be the focus of the card - the choice is yours.

The first sponsor  is Tando Creative:

'We supply our own unique range of chipboard designs that are both innovative and inspiring. We have now added masks to our range of products cut from sturdy and durable 350 micron polyfilm.

We offer a complete bespoke design and cut package for chipboard or we can cut products to your digital designs.'

Tando Creative will be sending the randomly chosen winner a prize package.

The second sponsor is That Craft Place:

Lisa Horton, the owner, runs on online shop as well as a bricks and mortar one in Eastbourne:

'We are a UK based bricks and mortar craft shop, stocking craft and card making supplies. We are dedicated to providing quality craft items at great prices. We stock a huge range of stamps, inks, alterable materials, embellishments, tools and all you need to create fabulous projects.

We pride ourselves on being welcoming, helpful and honest when it comes to purchasing products. We always offer to show you how to use items before you buy them, and you can try out the latest products in stock.'

The prize: (it so happens that Lisa has included some Tando goods, so there's two ways this week to win something made by Tando Creative!):

I can say from personal experience that there is always a warm welcome from the owner, Lisa Horton, and the rest of her staff. It is a delight to visit the shop and find lots of temptation ... I've always come away with some delightful purchases. And it's just as tempting to browse the online shop and also on facebook.

The third sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads:

This is a little bit about Di who produces such gorgeous digital images:

'I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!'

The randomly-chosen winner will be able given a $10 voucher to spend - just click on the link and feast your eyes on the super images - you will not be disappointed!

Please visit the websites of these generous sponsors and support them -
you will be spoiled for choice!

For my card I've used a Di's Digi Download called 'to both of you', coloured  digitally in Microsoft Paint  - you can read more about my card on my regular crafting blog My Crafty Outlook here.

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques - and this week I'd like to see a sentiment on your Christmas card - a small one or the main focus of your card, the choice is yours - easy peasy!!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 28 February. Please include a link to this blogpost within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish  and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on Saturday 1 March when there will once again be at least three chances to win a prize, thanks to generous sponsors.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you. Also it would be great if you would consider becoming a follower - lovely to welcome recent new followers and 'likers' on facebook.

Please also consider going to CHNC Facebook page and clicking 'like' if you haven't done so already and encourage your friends to do the same. I always show at least one of my cards for the next challenge in advance and it's a good place to catch up with any news, winners etc.

Don't forget

Don't forget that 'anything goes' monthly challenges are on my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra blog - you can share any Christmas card you make throughout the whole month, including those that you link here - there is no restriction on the number of entries you can make throughout the month - the link for CHNC challenge extra for February is here.

At the beginning of the year I started up a new challenge called Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - anything goes as long as you cover your card with patterned paper - a randomly chosen prize winner every month. Please click on the link to find out more. If you have used patterned paper to cover your card blank for your Christmas card, why not enter it there too. And please be aware that the new Patterned Paper Challenge is not restricted to Christmas - it is for any occasions.

A note about linky - Inlinkz has changed it's default link up to the new way that you might not yet be familiar with. In fact I chose the code for the old widget, but it still produced the new one. If you experience any difficulty, please get in touch with me and I'll help you link up. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you for your support
I look forward to seeing your entries

  6. Hi Hazel - you are a very sweet person - we are human - therefore we all make mistakes even when we repeat them - so know - that I for one, understand - my list of silly mistakes are at least a mile long - we just ask for forgiveness and move on - don't ya think? Thanks for the weekly and monthly challenges - I have been in on a break for awhile but trying to get back to my challenges and DT routinely. Thanks for all you do for your blogs! Have a wonderful day! Gail
